Russell St School pupils thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Mary Robinson and Robin Nichol's North End pond project earlier this year. Mary had created an information board with pictures and information about the kind of wild life that might be found there, and Robin was able to show them a grass snake, which created great excitement. Apart from that they each had a turn at pond-dipping, and visited the bug-hotel, snake house and wild flower meadow. Many of the children took photographs while they were there, which were submitted in the Horticultural Photograph competition. After their visit the children sent thank you letters to Mary and Robin to say what a great time they' had and asking when they could come back again!
